ABSTRACT: The purpose of this experiment was to determine if nicotinic acid (NA) effects on dairy cows and rumen microbial characteristics are forage-type dependent (corn silage, CS; grass silage, GS). Four late-lactation (DIM = 225 ± 12 d) Holstein cows were used in a 4 × 4 Latin square design with a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments.
