These terms govern your use of wastejournal.org (the “Site”), operated by WASTE — World Archive of Scientific Trial & Error. By using the Site you agree to these terms. WASTE is pre-launch, and the Site and these terms may change as features are added.

Use of the Site

  • You may use the Site for lawful, non-infringing purposes.
  • You may not attempt to disrupt the Site, gain unauthorized access, or use it to distribute malware or unlawful content.
  • Automated access (scraping, indexing) should be reasonable and respect the Site's robots.txt.

Content and licensing

Published articles, datasets, and protocols are made available under the Open Access Policy (CC BY 4.0). Site design, logos, and the WASTE name remain the property of WASTE and its licensors. Example records shown before launch are illustrative and are not peer-reviewed publications.

Submissions

If you submit material to WASTE, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that it complies with our Publication Ethics. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Payments — AI Precheck

Reading, downloading, and citing everything on WASTE is free and always will be. The optional AI Precheck is a paid tool: your first AI desk check is free, and each additional report costs $12 (one-time, per report), charged securely via Stripe.

  • A payment buys a single automated screening run only. It never buys editorial acceptance — payment and editorial decisions are kept strictly separate (our editorial firewall), and a human editor decides on scholarly grounds.
  • Refunds: if a desk check fails to complete, the charge is refunded automatically. If you believe you were charged in error, email info@wastejournal.org and we will refund it.
  • Fee waivers are available for unfunded researchers and authors from lower-income countries — see our Pricing page.

Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided “as is.” While we strive for accuracy, WASTE makes no warranty that content is error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and is not liable for decisions made in reliance on it. Pre-launch example content is provided for demonstration only.
