Open Access Policy

WASTE (World Archive of Scientific Trial & Error) is a fully open-access journal. All articles, datasets, and protocols published by WASTE are freely available to read, download, copy, distribute, and reuse, with no subscription, registration, or payment required to access content.

License

Unless stated otherwise, all content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This means anyone is free to share and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercially, provided appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes are indicated.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant WASTE a license to publish. Because content is licensed CC BY 4.0, authors also grant the public the reuse rights described above.

Self-archiving

Authors may deposit the published version of their work in institutional or subject repositories, on personal or departmental websites, and in preprint servers, without embargo, provided the original publication in WASTE is cited.

Article processing charges

WASTE is pre-launch. There are currently no charges to read or to submit. We are evaluating sustainable, equitable funding models and will publish any fee structure — together with a waiver policy for authors without funding — before submissions formally open. No fee will ever influence editorial decisions.
