This policy explains how WASTE (World Archive of Scientific Trial & Error) handles personal information on wastejournal.org. WASTE is pre-launch, and the site is currently informational, so the data we handle is minimal.

Information we collect

Analytics. We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand site traffic. These analytics do not use cookies to track you across sites and do not collect personally identifiable information.
Messages you send. Our contact and submission links open your own email client; any message you send reaches us by email and is kept only as long as needed to respond. We do not run a server-side form that stores your details.
Accounts. User accounts are not yet available. When account and submission features launch, this policy will be updated to describe the data they involve (such as name, email, institution, and ORCID).

How we use information

We use the limited information above to operate and improve the site and to respond to your inquiries. We do not sell personal information.

Third parties

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes basic request data (such as IP address) to deliver and secure the site. Email you send is processed by your and our email providers.

Your rights

You may contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to request a copy, or to request deletion. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
