Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) on respiratory parameters and abdominal pain in patients ventilated with a laryngeal mask during cataract surgery. Methods: This clinical trial study included 80 patients in need of cataract surgery (40 in the group without PEEP and 40 in the group with PEEP at 5 cmH2O) who underwent laryngeal mask ventilation during general anesthesia.
